Virginia Avery Obituary

Virginia K. Avery, age 74, of Belleville, IL, born on January 15, 1946 in East St. Louis, IL, died on Saturday, June 6, 2020 at St. Joseph Hospital, Highland, IL.

Our Mother, loved by many, worked for the St. Louis Cardinals in the start of her career and retired from the freight industry after 27 years. She was most proud of her 4 boys and her 6 grandchildren. Virginia loved shopping and was always ready to enjoy a margarita with her dear friends. She loved to travel and after retirement went to live with Christopher in Maui, which is where her ashes will be scattered in the Pacific Ocean.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Bernice Buchanan, nee Hart.

Virginia is survived by her sons, Robert Eagan (Monica Farrell, Greg Eagan (Monica Lybarger), Johnny (Amy Buck) Cotter, and Chris Cotter; her grandchildren, Kyle Eagan, Alexis Eagan, Arii Cotter, Rachel Cotter, Sebastian Cotter, Halynn Cotter, and Madelyn Lybarger; and her brother, Ace (Patti) Hart.
