Shirley M. Coppotelli, nee Sieling, age 87, of St. Louis, MO, formerly of Highland, IL, born on May 5, 1931 in Washington Park, IL, died on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at Sunrise Assisted Living, Clayton, MO.
Shirley worked for Baker’s Shoes in East St. Louis during the forties. She worked for over twenty years for the Illinois Department of Motor Vehicles at Loisel Village and the Swansea stations, defying death by taking new drivers on their license test. She was a poll worker during elections in Washington Park and actively supported her husband’s work as a precinct committeeman. She had a great sense of humor and enjoyed solving puzzles and watching sports, especially the St. Louis Cardinals and NASCAR. She was easy going and enjoyed many evenings with friends and relatives at home.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene A. Coppotelli; her parents, John and Clara, nee Lowis, Sieling; and her siblings, John “Jack” Sieling, Evelyn Gojmeric and Richard “Dick” Sieling.
Shirley is survived by her sons, Eugene G. (Rachell) Coppotelli of St. Louis, MO and Terry D. (Maureen) Coppotelli of Washington, MO; her grandchildren, Klio, Zoe, Brittany, Stormy (Austin) Madden and Mark; and her great granddaughter, Brooklyn Madden.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 16, 2018 at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd, Fairview Heights, IL.
Memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 16, 2018 with Rev. Kevin Weaver officiating. Interment will be held in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO.
