Rose “Ginny” Virginia Belgeri, nee Taylor, age 94, of St. Louis, MO, and Edwardsville, IL, born on May 30, 1927, passed away in her sleep on Monday, August 23, 2021, at Liberty Village of Maryville, in Maryville, IL.
Ginny was a housewife and mother who lived most of her life in St. Louis, MO, until she moved to Edwardsville, IL in 2015. She was a member of St. Bartholomew Catholic Church, Transfiguration Church in St. Louis, MO, and St. Boniface Church in Edwardsville, IL. She loved volunteering at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church and School, working bake sales, selling snow cones at recess, working card parties, and baking. Her hobbies included sewing, knitting, crocheting, and dancing.
Ginny was the daughter of the late Opal and Eric Taylor, Sr., and was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence R. Belgeri, Sr.; brothers, Eric Taylor, Jr., and Don Taylor; and her sister, Unis Taylor.
She is survived by her children, Sharon (Len) Tracy, Lawrence (Pat) Belgeri, Jr., and Cheryl (John) Kowalis; her grandchildren, Michael Tracy, Sara Tracy, Jason (Laura) Palmero, John (Justin H.) Kowalis III, Jessica (Travis) McKenna, Justin Kowalis, and Joshua (Erica B.) Kowalis. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren Alexis, Michael, Aaliyah, Matthew, Jason, Eleanor, and Leo.
Masses or memorials may be made to the Little Sisters of the Poor or to The Sisters of St. Francis of the Martyr St. George.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 31, 2021, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at St. Boniface Church, 110 N. Buchanan Street, Edwardsville, IL 62025.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, August 31, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Boniface Church, 110 N. Buchanan Street, Edwardsville, IL. Interment will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO.
