Rose Stephenson

Rose V. Stephenson, nee Aleman, 90 of Fairmont City, Illinois, born on May 23, 1928 in Fairmont City, IL died on Friday, December 7, 2018 at Freeburg Care Center, Freeburg, IL.

Rose worked for many years as a seamstress at Martha Manning Clothing Collinsville, IL. She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church. She enjoyed dancing, St. Louis Cardinals baseball and spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert C. Stephenson; her parents Juan “Papa John” and Mary, nee Savala, Aleman; and her sister, Ruth Green.

Rose is survived by her daughters,  Sandra (Richard) Ramirez of Fairmont City, and Phyllis Louise Brokaw of Fairmont City, IL: her sons, Rex (Vickie) Stephenson of Collinsville, IL and John (Deanie) Stephenson of Caseyville, IL; grandchildren Richard (Michelle) Ramirez, Rachelle Ramirez, Rebecca (Manuel) Perez, Rex (Jennifer) Ramirez, Felicia Brokaw, Michael (Tricia) Brokaw, Kevin Brokaw, Meghan ( Shane) Whitebread, Brooke Stephenson, John (Tivonya) Stephenson, Rachael (Brett) Murphy, Jenna Stephenson; 11 Great- Grandchildren; 7 Great-Great Grandchildren; her sisters, Mary Lou Wall, Alice Becker, Lupe (Jose) Plancarte; brothers, John ( Sarah) Aleman, Sam (Millie) Aleman, Phillip ( Mary Frances) Aleman. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and family members.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 15, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Fairmont City, IL.

Memorial Mass will be held on December 15, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Fairmont City, IL with Fr. David Wilke officiating.  Burial of cremated remains will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Belleville, IL.
