Michael A. McFadden

Michael A. McFadden, age 77, of Greenville, IL, born on June 20, 1940 in East St. Louis, IL, died on Thursday, March 15, 2018 at his residence. 

Mike started his work career as a mechanic.  He worked for McDonnell Aircraft, McDonnell Douglas and then for Boeing as a SMAR (sheet metal and riveter) for 40 years.  He worked on projects like the Gemini Spacecraft, the F-15, and F-18.  In his final years, he worked on the C-17.  Mike retired from Boeing in 2002. 

Mike loved his woodworking.  He made cradles for his grandbabies as well as his great nieces and nephews.  He loved riding his motorcycle and was an avid camper.  Mike was a very loving man who would help the kids on their projects around the house.  He loved watching the History Channel and shows about aircraft.  While being a quiet man, Mike didn’t like being in a crowd, but he loved being with family. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Denis and Nellie, nee Prior, McFadden; his daughter, Patti McFadden; his son, Brian McFadden; his sister, Agnes Millick; and his brothers, Edward McFadden and Dennis McFadden.

 Mike is survived by his wife, Cindy L. McFadden, nee Crow; his daughter, Melissa (Robert) Porter of Mascoutah, IL; his step-children, David Winkeler (Kim Bracken), of O’Fallon, MO, Paul “PJ” (Monica) Winkeler of O’Fallon, IL, John (Deann) Winkeler of O’Fallon, IL, Theresa (Scott) Voss of O’Fallon, IL, and Stephen (Marie) Winkeler of Fairview Heights, IL; his grandchildren, Anthony Richkas, Michael Richkas, Brian Porter, and Kevin Porter; his step-grandchildren, Zachary Hamilton, Holden Winkeler, Madison Winkeler, Andrew Winkeler, Geoffrey Winkeler, Ryan Voss, Kylie Voss, Tyson Voss, Skylar Voss, and Malcolm Winkeler; 4 great grandchildren, Dominick, Carter, Miles and MaCenzie Porter; and his former wife, Carol Randolph McFadden.   

Memorials may be made to Belleville Area Humane Society. 

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at St. Clare of Assissi Church, O’Fallon, IL.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at St. Clare of Assissi Church, O’Fallon, IL with Fr. Jim Deiters officiating.   Interment in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, O’Fallon, IL.
