Mary was my sister-in-law. It's been decades since I've been in touch with my Illinois family. As a child, I visited her and my brother James and the family often. I always enjoyed those visits. Especially during the holidays and I would go to midnight Mass with them, although the best part was when we went back to their house after and she brought out the gooey butter cake. I have fond memories of Mary, she was always a kind and caring soul. My sympathies to Patty and Robert and their families and to all who were close to Mary.
