Lorraine L. Yow

Lorraine L. Yow, nee Freiberg, age 89, of Belleville, IL, born on April 14, 1933, in East St. Louis, IL, died on Tuesday, May 24, 2022, at Evelyn’s House, St. Louis, MO.

Lorraine was a salesclerk at Woolworth’s, previously Kresge’s and Jupiter Stores for over 30 years.  She often attended the Caseyville Township Senior Center events.  Lorraine loved gardening, cutting grass and to piddle around in the yard.  She mostly loved spending time with her twin sister, Loretta.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Ray Yow; her daughter-in-law, Donna Yow; her parents, Harry and Loretta, nee Hopfinger Freiberg; her brother, Joseph Freiberg; and her brother-in-law, Gary Slagle.

Lorraine is survived by her son, David Yow of Collinsville, IL; her twin sister, Loretta Slagle of Belleville, IL; her favorite niece and second son, Robin Schiller (Danny Sullivan) of Belleville, IL; 3 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and her loving dogs, Cody and Spice.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 31, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd., Fairview Heights, IL.

Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 1, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd., Fairview Heights, IL, with Rev. Kenneth York officiating.  Interment will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Belleville, IL.
