Linda Heape

Linda L. Heape, nee Maxwell, age 77, of St. Louis, MO, born on January 18, 1943 in East St. Louis, IL, died on Sunday, January 10, 2021 at Mercy Hospital, St. Louis, MO.

Linda was a graduate of East St. Louis Senior High School and SIU-E where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Education. She retired after 30 years as a teacher at Belleville High School West. She was a kind, generous, devoted, and loving daughter, wife, sister, and friend. She lived her life by always thinking of others first. She enjoyed family gatherings and traveling to Las Vegas and Florida. She was also a strong animal advocate supporting several animal rescue organizations.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Rolla and Viola, nee Sensel, Maxwell.

She is survived by her husband, Roger K. Heape; her siblings, Deborah Bunse of Las Vegas, NV, and David (Betti) Maxwell of Belleville, IL; her brother-in-law, Byron (Martha) Heape; and her sister-in-law, Carol Carter of Ohio.  Linda is also survived by her nieces, Stacey Hofert, Carrie Heape, Patricia Clayton, and Susan Clayton.   

Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association.  

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
