Joseph P. Buffa

Joseph P. Buffa, age 73, of Fairmont City, IL, born on October 20, 1948, in St. Louis, MO, died on Tuesday, July 26, 2022, at Evelyn’s House, Creve Coeur, MO.

Joseph worked as a formulator for different manufacturers over the years including Tums and Firmenich. He liked going to the racetrack, casino and playing golf.   Family and friends will remember his great sense of humor and his love of sharing a cup of coffee over current events and reminiscing about old times. Joseph was truly one of a kind and will be greatly missed.  

He loved his family a lot and would often say how lucky he was to have them. 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna C. “Annie” nee, Reyes Buffa; and his parents, Paul S. and Mary Agnes, nee Barry Buffa.

Joseph is survived by his children, Anna M. (Ruben) Mora and Marisa L. Buffa; his grandchildren, Simon Rodriguez, Alyssa C. Cerna, Isabella M. Mora, Nayeli G. Rodriguez, Karina A. Gomez, and Alex M. Mora; and his siblings, Patrick S. Buffa, Sr. and Antoinette ‘Toni” Buffa.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or to Holy Rosary Catholic Church.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 31, 2022, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd., Fairview Heights, IL.

Visitation will also be held on Monday, August 1, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Fairmont City, IL.

 A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, August 1, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Fairmont City, IL with Fr. Harold Fisher officiating.  Interment will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Belleville, IL.
