John H. Meravy

John H. Meravy, age 77, of Fairview Heights, IL, born on March 17, 1941 in East St. Louis, IL, having lovingly completed his work here on Earth, and surrounded by his daughters was called home on Friday, August 31, 2018 at Memorial Hospital, Belleville, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Paul and Marcellee, nee Hermann, Meravy.

John is survived by his children, Lynnette (Jamie) Madura of York, PA, Virginia “Gina” (Kris) Trimmer of York, PA, Jodi (Patrick) Gleeson of Belleville, IL, Chrissy (Jim) Johnson of O’Fallon, IL, Patricia (John) Miller of Fairview Heights, IL, and Kelly (Felicia) Willis of Fairview Heights, IL; his grandchildren, Joshua Madura, Jakob (Bobbilea) Madura, Madelin Trimmer, Patrick Gleeson, Caitlin Gleeson, Ella Gleeson, Braden Johnson, Boston Johnson, Ayden Lyles and John Hunter Miller; special friends, Anna Fink, Sharon Small and his Elks Lodge #664 family.

Anyone who had the privilege of knowing John knew he lived for his family and gave his all to help anyone and everyone in need. He served many years in the Knights of Columbus and was a devout member of the Elks Lodge #664. Through all of his self-sacrificing hours of volunteer work, he was acknowledged twice as Exalted Ruler of the Elks, Trustee for five years, twice Elk of the Year, and Grand Knight for Knights of Columbus #592.

We hope there is grass to cut and dishes to be washed in heaven.  WE LOVE YOU MORE THAN YOU WILL EVER KNOW!

Memorial visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 2, 2018 at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd, Fairview Heights, IL.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 2, 2018 at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd., Fairview Heights, IL with Fr. Nick Junker officiating.  The Elks Lodge will be conducting their service immediately following.
