Reva “Jane” Dillow, nee Cuthbert, born on May 27, 1930, in Dayton, OH, passed away on July 4, 2018 at Cedar Ridge Health & Rehab, Lebanon, IL.
Jane earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Education at Miami University in Oxford, OH, and was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority of which she remained a life-long member. She met her husband, Gene, while she was teaching first grade in Japan and he was stationed there with the United States Air Force. She loved to reminisce about their time in Japan and share stories of their time as a military family. Jane had fond memories of skiing on Mt. Hood and ice skating on Mt. Fuji. She also loved to cook, knit, and make all kinds of crafts. Jane was part of an O’Fallon Quilt Group that made a city quilt. Her square depicted the Tieteman Mill which was part of the city’s history. She collected antiques, dolls, bears and cookbooks. In the late 1970’s and 1980’s she and her husband owned and operated Jane and Gene’s Antiques.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Lynn Bown; her parents, Ralph and Reva, nee, Ellett, Cuthbert; and her sister, Suzanne Fess.
Jane is survived by her husband, Homer “Gene” Dillow; her children, Dee Ann (Jon) Johnson and Bruce (Kathy) Dillow; her grandchildren, JoBeth Johnson Hodges, Jordan Johnson, Melisssa Rockett, Kristina Dillow, Nicholas Dillow, Riley Bown, and Randy Bown; and her great grandsons, Aspen Rockett, Austyn Rockett, Alec Sellers, Andrew Hodges and Evan Hodges. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank all of her caregivers from over the years; especially the staff at Cedar Ridge Health and Rehab, Memorial East Hospital, Fresenius O’Fallon, and Dr. Bashiruddin.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cure Alzheimer’s Fund, Breast Cancer Research Foundation or the American Kidney Fund.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd, Fairview Heights, IL.
Memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 14, 2018 with Pastor Jack Kurrelmeyer officiating at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd, Fairview Heights, IL.
