Gregory Trey Tyler

On the morning of April 14, 2022, Trey went to be with the Lord. Trey passed peacefully surrounded by his mother and father at St. John's hospital in Springfield, IL. Trey was 34 years old. 

Trey was born in Belleville, IL on July 3, 1987. He was the third child and first-born son of Greg and Tanya Tyler. 

Those who knew Trey loved him for his quick wit and outgoing personality. He was a kind, generous man who would do anything for you. Trey enjoyed cycling, running, and lifting weights. He also enjoyed cooking and playing guitar. Trey was loved by his nephews and was often found playing basketball or street hockey with them in their driveway. 

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Ramona Tyler; grandfather Vernon Tyler; aunt Jacqueline Tyler, and best friend Andrew Cruzen. 

Trey is survived by his parents, Greg and Tanya Tyler, his son Jace, sisters Jamie (David) Mason and Randi Tyler (Frank Masek); and brother, Trevor Tyler (Jessica Reynolds). He is also survived by grandparents, Don Habermehl and Jean Habermehl, and multiple nephews and a niece. 

Trey, there are no goodbyes, wherever you'll be, you'll be in our hearts. Our wonderful memories of you will soften our grief, but you will be terribly missed. We love you dearly.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 20, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd., Fairview Heights, IL.  

Private family services will be held on Thursday, April 21, 2022, at Kassly Mortuary Chapel, Fairview Heights, IL.
