Gloria L. (Sotzen) Helgert

Gloria L. Helgert, nee Sotzen, age 64, of Fairview Heights, IL, born on November 20, 1953, in Lincoln, IL, died on Monday, March 12, 2018 at her residence.

Gloria was a cafeteria worker at O’Fallon Township High School for 15 years.  She was a member of First Baptist Church, Fairview Heights, IL.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Fern, nee Vandervender, Sotzen; and her brother, Gary Sotzen.

Gloria is survived by her husband, Ronald Helgert; her children, Robert (Billie) Moffett of Belvidere, IL and Robin (Justin) Badger of Fairview Heights, IL; her step-children, Sherry (Lonzo) Nelson, Sheila (Richard) Steele, and Ronald (Kristi) Helgert, Jr.; her step-grandchildren, Brandy, Alonna, Adam and Austin; and her siblings, Sharon (Gary) Brinkmeyer of Charleston, IL and James Sotzen of Tinley Park, IL. Gloria is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, Fairview Heights, IL.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, March 16, 2018 at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd, Fairview Heights, IL.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd, Fairview Heights, IL with Dr. Jim Kerr officiating.  Interment in St. Clair Memorial Park, Fairview Heights, IL.
