Doreen F. Chambers

Doreen F. Chambers, age 63, a spirited and loving Wife, Mother, Nana, Sister, and Friend to everyone, passed with quiet dignity from Covid on Sunday, November 7, 2021.

Born in Wrentham, Massachusetts to James and Dorothy Dow, she was a graduate King Philip High School and North Adams State University. Upon completion of Officer Candidate school, she embarked on a career in the Air Force where she met her husband of 38 years, Eugene Chambers Jr.  Together they had two children, Anna and Matthew.

Doreen’s love of crafts and baking was endless. Whether teaching cake decorating or competing in the State Fair, she loved sharing her creations. Her love for her grandchildren, Lorelei, Cynthia, and Himal, never showed more than in the afternoons spent baking with them. Her legacy endures with those lives she touched.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to her Parish’s Holy Trinity Catholic Church building fund.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 14, 2021, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.  at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd., Fairview Heights, IL.

A procession will leave Kassly Mortuary, Ltd., Fairview Heights, IL, on Monday, November 15, 2021, at 9:30 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Fairview Heights, IL, with Fr. James Chambers, O.M.I. officiating.  Interment will be in St. Andrew’s Catholic Cemetery, Murphysboro, IL.
