David M. Miner, age 78, of Fairview Heights, IL, born on February 8, 1944, in East St. Louis, IL, died on Saturday, April 30, 2022, at Memorial Hospital, Belleville, IL.
Throughout his life, David worked many jobs and was always ready with a story about his past roles. David retired as a Technical Assessment Team Supervisor for The Defense Logistics Agency in 1999. He attended Holy Trinity Catholic Church where he was active in the Men’s Club, Thursday Crew, and fish fries. David was a big supporter of the Native American Heritage Association, especially Lakota Sioux, and in the missions in Calcutta, India. He loved cooking for his family and friends and was a proud multi-year winner of the annual Miner Steak Off. David readily shared his love and light with all, and those of us lucky enough to call him family or friend were truly blessed.
He was preceded in death by parents, Joseph and Manelle, nee Egmon Miner.
David is survived by his wife, Mary K. Miner, nee Schepker; his children, Shawn M. Miner, and Jonathan M. (Sarah) Miner; and his brother, Craig A. (Shari) Miner. He is also survived by many aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
