Cordelia J. "Cory" Sadowski

Cordelia J. “Cory” Sadowski, nee Vaughn, age 75, of O’Fallon, IL, born on May 10, 1947, in East St. Louis, IL, died on Sunday, April 30, 2023, at Memorial Hospital, O’Fallon, IL.

Cory worked a number of jobs over the years; as a commercial underwriter with Daniel & Henry Company in St. Louis, MO, an agent for Hoppe Insurance Agency in Belleville, IL, a customer service representative with the IRS, Apron Strings Catering business out of her home and Miss Hulling’s Cafeteria in St. Louis, MO.  She was previously active in the church ministry at St. Patrick’s Church in East St. Louis, IL, Little Falcons Football Team parents’ group, Fairview Heights Jaycees, and Boy Scout Troop #35 as Treasurer.  Cory was an unconditional loving mom, grandma, sister, aunt and great aunt.  Her favorite holiday was Easter with a large family gathering, and the more than 1,000 Easter egg hunt ending with an auction battle.  She was an avid reader, usually reading a few books a day. Cory will sadly be missed by family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard J. “Suds” Sadowski, her parents, Roy and Frances, nee Carpenter Vaughn; and her brothers, Kenneth Vaughn and Stanley Vaughn.

Cory is survived by her children, Rick (Kelly) Sadowski of Belleville, IL, and Chris (Heather) Sadowski of Swansea, IL; her twin grandsons, Stone Robert and Cash Vaughn Sadowski;  her sister, Mary (Dennis) Tenllado of Troy, IL; her brother, Robert Vaughn; and her nieces and nephew, Maria Heintz, Chris Tenllado, and Blair “Nikki” Cristel. She was also our loving great aunt.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 4, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., at Kassly Mortuary, Fairview Heights, IL.

Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, May 4, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd., Fairview Heights, IL.  Interment will be held in St. Adalbert Cemetery, Fairview Heights, IL.
