Charlotte Ann Barger, nee Fields, age 92, born on October 7, 1929, in East St. Louis, IL, died on April 13, 2022, at Memorial Hospital, Belleville, Illinois.
Charlotte was a 1947 graduate of St. Teresa Academy and attended Webster University. She married John P. Barger on November 18, 1950, became the proud mother of 7 children, Bev, Mike, Sue, John, Bob, Dan, and Tim. The family continued to grow with 26 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and 1 great, great grandson. Charlotte was an associate member of the St. Clair Woman’s Club. She loved watching tennis and the St. Louis Cardinals, and enjoyed the bingo games, happy hours, and dining with her friends at the Shrine Apartments. Charlotte was proud of her large family and treasured the many family parties.
Charlotte was preceded in death by her husband, Jack, who died on April 5, 1998; her granddaughter, Stacey Cooper; son-in-law, Eddie Joe Belz; daughter-in-law, Rainy Barger; parents, Alvin G. Fields and Catherine Fields; sisters, Rita (Bob) Godfrey and Niecie (Jack) Lubus; her brother Alvin (Jane) Fields, Jr.; her sisters-in-law, Joan (Vern) Reagan and Jeanne Willenborg; and her brother-in-law, Bill Keeley.
She is survived by her daughters, Bev (John) Burklow and Sue (Tom) Cannady; and her five sons, Mike Barger, John (Marty) Barger, Bob (Patti) Barger, Dan (Lynn) Barger and Tim Barger (Molly Gillespie); her sister, Carol Keeley, her brother-in-law, Art Willenborg, and her cousin, Tom (Linda) Fields; numerous nieces and nephews; and of course, her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandson.

Visitation will be held on Monday, April 18, 2022, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Belleville, IL.
Visitation will also be held on Tuesday, April 19, 2022, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Belleville, IL.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, April 19, 2022, at 11:30 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, with Fr. Matt Elie officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Belleville, IL.
