Oh, Paula - I'm so deeply sorry to learn you are gone. Every year, you always sent Christmas cards and stayed in touch - and, I always got back to you on the phone months later - and, we would always laugh at how shameful I was.

I owe you and your mom such a debt of gratitude for being there for me so long ago when I was having such difficulty during the early '70s. Nobody else was there like both of you were - so sincere and heartfelt - and I've never forgotten.

And, when we talked on the phone, I could talk with you about David; I still miss him so much. Today is Veteran's Day and I called to see how you are, what you're doing and reminisce about old times with David - but this time there was no answer - and, you're gone.

Your mom and you and David had so much heart...I hope you understood how very much I felt that way...

I miss David, I miss your mom...and, I miss you, Paula - and our phone conversations - and your notes and good wishes at Christmas.

You never forgot me...
