Mavis D. (Bond) Tate

Mavis D. Tate, nee Bond, age 83, of Belleville, IL, born on January 26, 1935 in McLeansboro, IL, died on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, MO.

Mavis retired from Obear-Nestor Glass after 22 1/2 years.  She also worked as a housekeeper at the Ramada Inn in Fairview Heights, IL for 12 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred L. Tate, Sr; her daughter, Vicky Lynn Ford; her parents, Frank J. and Velma, nee Hornsby, Bond; and her sisters, Beverly Bond and Sharon Theirry.

Mavis is survived by her grandchildren, Tyler Jon Ford, Taylor John Ford and Terron Jonn Ford, all of Belleville, IL; her great granddaughter, Victoria Lynn Ford of Belleville, IL; her brother, Sonny (Joan) Bond; her sister, Joy Merrill of DE; her son-in-law, Tyrone Ford; and her brother-in-law, Roger Theirry.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 26, 2018 at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd, Fairview Heights, IL.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 26, 2018 with Fr. Bill McGee officiating. Cremation will be held after services.
