Abraham R. “Abe” Aleman, age 80, of Fairmont City, IL, born on April 15, 1938 in Fairmont City, IL, died on Sunday, June 17, 2018.
Abe worked as an accountant for a CPA firm in Creve Coeur, MO. He was the Treasurer of Fairmont City, IL for 45 years and the Clerk for Canteen Township. Abe was a member of the American Legion Post 961, Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Fairmont City Park Board and Holy Rosary School Board. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, cousin and friend to all. A hero to his kids and grandkids and the biggest Notre Dame and Chicago Cubs fan this side of the Mississippi. He loved this country, his parish and everyone in Fairmont City. Abe never turned anyone down who was in need of help. He will be missed by all and especially Mary Ann, his wife of 55 years.
Abe was preceded in death by his parents, Abraham and Clotilda, nee Mena, Aleman; his brother, Richard Aleman; and his sister-in-law, Monica Aleman.
Abe is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Aleman, nee Smoski; his children, Patricia L. (Mike) Fiudo of Fairmont City, IL, Mary Angela Aleman of Fairmont City, IL and Dr. Michael Aleman (Dr. Betty Hou-Aleman), of Yorba Linda, CA; his grandchildren, Danielle Fiudo, Edward Fiudo, Nicolas Aleman and Dorian Aleman; his brothers, Rudolph (Rose) Aleman and Charles Aleman; his brothers-in-law, Walter (Sharon) Smoski and Richard (Linda) Smoski; his niece, Moria Smoski (Roy Tebbe); his nephew, Matthew Aleman; his great nieces; and his grand fur babies, Mickey, Max, Shadow, Sophie, Ella and Kenzie.
Memorials may be made to Holy Rosary Catholic Church in the form of masses or to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
A memorial visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 22, 2018 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Fairmont City, IL.
