William J. Arnold

William Joseph Arnold, age 72, of Fairmont City, IL, born on April 19, 1951, in East St. Louis, IL, died on Tuesday, August 29, 2023, at his residence.

William worked as a carpenter for Tom’s Building and Repair in Millstadt, IL.  He worked out of the union hall, Local #169 in East St. Louis (now Local #662) for many years and helped run and maintain Fairmont Golf Course.  He enjoyed bowling and playing golf and loved riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Catherine I., nee Rauschl and Robert J. Arnold; and his brother-in-law, David L. Dixon.

William is survived by his wife, Gudelia Arnold, nee Cepeda; his siblings, Robert Arnold (George Ann Henderson), Barbara (Rick) McClure, and Dr. Debra Dixon; his step-daughter, Kristi (Alex) Mariscal; and his step-grandchildren, Alex Mariscal and Lorenzo Mariscal; and his good friend, Daniel (Mandy) Rafalowski.

Memorials may be made to Holy Rosary Catholic Church, or to Bond County Humane Society, Greenville, IL.

Memorial Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 7, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd., Fairview Heights, IL.

A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, September 7, 2023, at 6:00 p.m. Kassly Mortuary, Ltd., Fairview Heights, IL, with Father Jim Buerster officiating.
