Vitas Luja

Vitas Luja, age 70, of Fairview Heights, IL, born on February 26, 1954, in East St. Louis, IL, died on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, at his residence.

Vitas was a Vietnam Army Veteran.  He was a landscaper with his family owned Luja Nursery in Fairview Heights, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Ann, nee Teikertaite Luja.

Vitas is survived by his wife, Laura Luja, nee Holeman; his son, Jason (Stephanie) Luja of Smithton, IL; his grandchildren, Logan Luja, Laney Luja, and Landon Luja; his sisters, Donna (David) Lujaking of Indianapolis, IN, and Loretta Luja of Tuscon, AZ; his brothers-in-law, Alan (Beth) Holeman of Fenton, MO, Patrick (Shelly) Holeman of Mineral Point, MO; and his sister-in-law, Loretta (Dick) Bienvenu of Wright City, MO.  Vitas is also survived by loving nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family.

A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, August 30, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd., Fairview Heights, IL. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m.

A funeral procession will leave Kassly Mortuary, Ltd., Fairview Heights, IL, at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, August 30, 2024, for a 12:30 p.m. Military Honors Service at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO.
