Virginia L. Egnatz Obituary

Virginia L. Egnatz, nee Zeszutek, age 88, of Swansea, IL, born on September 9, 1936, in East St. Louis, IL, died on Tuesday, February 4, 2025.

Virginia worked at National Stock Yards Bank for many years.  She was a graduate of St. Teresa Academy, and a longtime member of St. Augustine of Canterbury Catholic Church. She was a member of PALS Club, American Legion Women’s Auxiliary in Fairmont City, IL.  She enjoyed bingo, bowling, and loved to be with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry R. Egnatz; her parents, John and Stella nee Budnicki Zeszutek; and her nephew, Joe Dallas.

Virginia is survived by her daughter, Katherine Roth, and Patrick her favorite son-in-law, of Swansea, IL, her grandchildren, Trish (Brad) Bell of Swansea, IL, Michelle (Vincent) Marty of Highland, IL, and Joshua (Brandi) Roth of Belleville, IL; her great-grandchildren, Ruby, Chaz, Thomas, Jett, and Clark; and her nieces and nephews, Patti Mikulcza, JoAnn Mikulcza, Mary Kay (Bill) Talley, William Dallas, and Tom (Jessica) Dallas.

Memorials are preferred to St. Augustine of Canterbury Church or to Hospice of Southern Illinois.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at St. Augustine of Canterbury Church, Belleville, IL.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at St. Augustine of Canterbury Church, Belleville, IL with Fr. Bill McGhee officiating.  Interment will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Belleville, IL
