Hatch Jr., Vincent Joseph
March 12, 1952 – December 19, 2025
Vincent Joseph Hatch, Jr., age 73, passed away peacefully at home on December 19, 2025 with his siblings by his side. Vince was born in East St. Louis, Illinois, the loving son of the late Vincent J. and Frances Hatch. He was the cherished brother of Ann Hatch, Dennis Hatch (Monica), Claire Hatch, and Ellen (Bernard) Kueny. Fond uncle to Michael (June), Mary, Charles, and James Hatch; and Bernie, Claire, Patrick (Taylor) and John Kueny.
Vince grew up in Belleville, Illinois, where he attended Blessed Sacrament School and Althoff Catholic High School. He then attended St. Louis University where he obtained a degree in business. He developed lifelong friendships there with his Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity brothers. Vince was a hard worker and problem solver, no matter what his occupation. During high school he worked at W.J. Crotty Florist, which he fondly recalled throughout his life. After college he learned the remodeling trade while working at Schifferdecker Kitchens & Baths. In the many years after, he generously and lovingly gave his spare time and effort to his siblings by flying in on the weekends to whichever city they lived to renovate their kitchens and homes.
Vince moved to Chicago where he became a Cubs fan, living near Wrigley Field. He initially worked as an air traffic controller at DuPage and O’Hare airports. He then became plant manager at Ferrite International for many years, located north of Chicago. In 2002 he moved to Naples, Florida. Always enjoying work, he was involved in every aspect of maintaining 23 offices for John R. Wood Properties. He was the consummate organizer and planner at John R. Wood. Everyone at the offices loved to see him come in because he was so friendly. His loss leaves a great void for all of us, but many wonderful memories.
