Vernon L. Gruenke

Vernon L. Gruenke, age 93, of Fairview Heights, IL, born on March 31, 1928, in St. Louis, MO passed away on December 30, 2021, at his residence.

Vernon was an electrician for Moloney Electric, St Louis, MO for 27 years and Bradford Electric, E. St. Louis, IL for 21 years. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy. He was a perfectionist doing woodworking and carpentry.

Vernon was preceded in death  by his parents, Albert W. and Mary, nee Boettger, Gruenke; his brothers, Emory and Albert Gruenke; his sisters, Betty McAllister, Lillian Pickel and Laverne Pfingsten; and great grandchild, Quinton Douglas Gruenke.

Vernon is survived by his wife, Virginia, nee Field, Gruenke of 71 years; his sons, David (Christine) Gruenke of Nolensville, TN, Steven (Mary Su) Gruenke of Belleville, IL, James (Paulette) Gruenke of Maysville, KY, Scott ( Linda) Gruenke of Stella, NC, and Daniel  (Debra) Gruenke of Murfreesboro, TN; his grandchildren, Luke (Candace) Gruenke, Jennifer Gruenke, Jill Gruenke, John Gruenke, Mary Ann Acord, Shannon (James) Polk, Joshua Gruenke, Sarah (Joshua) Gruenke Johnson, Douglas (Georgia) Gruenke, Chad Gruenke, Danielle Gruenke, Delainee Gruenke, Christopher Vasquez, Armand Vasquez, Genevieve Vasquez, and Scott A. (Emily) Stewart;16  great grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, Fairview Heights, IL.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 4, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Fairview Heights, IL.  

Funeral service will be on Wednesday, January 5, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church, Fairview Heights, IL.  Interment will be at Lakeview Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, IL
