Thomas E. Simpson

Thomas E. “Tommy” Simpson, age 84, of New Minden, IL, born on June 10, 1941 in East St. Louis, IL, died on Wednesday February 25, 2026.

Tommy retired from Monsanto/Solutia Corporation in Sauget, IL. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially camping and fishing. He was a long-standing patron of the Blue Room in New Minden, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Lorraine, nee Meyers, Simpson; his great niece, Stephanie Fears; and his cousin, Joan McCabe.

Tommy is survived by his sister, Barbara Haney (late husband Francis Gene Haney) of Fairview Heights, IL; his niece, Tracey (late husband, E.J.) Bach of Waterloo, IL; his nephew, Kevin (Diane) Haney of Sacramento, CA; his great nieces and nephews, Jennifer Haney and Amanda Fears, and Eddie, William, Erica, and Melissa Haney; and his great-great nieces and nephews, Kane Fears, Tiffany Haney, Lucas Haney, Bailey Fears, Blake Heniser, Kayla Heniser, and Chelsea. He is also survived by many other loving family and friends.

Visitation will be held on Monday, March 9, 2026 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd., Fairview Heights, IL.

Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday. March 10, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Kassly Mortuary, Fairview Heights, IL.  Interment will be at Green Mount Catholic Cemetery, Belleville, IL.
