Thomas A. Marx

Thomas A. Marx, age 88, of Belleville, IL, born on January 31, 1939, in East St. Louis, IL, died on Thursday, October 2, 2025, at Delmar Gardens, Chesterfield, MO.

Tom was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a truck driver and mechanic for many years with PIE Trucking and local construction contractors. He was a member of Teamsters Local #50, and American Legion Post #581, Columbia, IL. Tom loved to camp and fish locally.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Christian A. and Hazel M, nee Watson Marx; and his sisters, Shirley Moriset, Maurine Trolinger and Kathy Marchant.

Thomas is survived by his wife, Emily A. nee Nowak Marx; his son, Michael A. (Deanna) Marx; his grandchildren, Scarlett Gene Marx and Presley Stephens; and many loving nieces and nephews.

Memorials can be made to the Belleville Area Humane Society or to Disabled American Veterans.

Visitation will be held on Monday, October 6, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd., Fairview Heights, IL.

Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd., Fairview Heights, IL with Pastor Ben Godard officiating.  Interment will be in Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, IL.
