Thomas Leroy Chase, age 73, of Swansea, IL, born on May 19, 1950, in E. St. Louis, IL, died on Tuesday, November 7, 2023, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, MO.

Thomas was preceded by his wife, Jacqueline (nee Bles) Chase and his parents Thomas and Hardy (nee Bailey) Chase.

He is survived by his son, Thomas (Suzanne) Chase Jr. of Smithton and daughter Cristen (Johnie) Rybicki of Freeburg, IL; grandchildren, Jordyn and Ashleigh Chase, Reagan and Madison Rybicki; his sister, Karen Chase of Swansea, IL.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Thomas Leroy Chase Sr. a beloved husband, father, and friend. Tom departed this world on Tuesday November 7th, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and enduring memories. Born on May 19, 1950, Tom lived a life filled with purpose and compassion. His unwavering commitment to his family and community was a testament to his character, and his warmth and humor touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him.

In his journey through life, Tom was not just a loving spouse and parent; he was a man of many facets. He shared 56 wonderful years of his life with his devoted wife, Jackie, and together, they crafted a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished moments. Tom was also a doting father to 2 children: Thomas Chase Jr and Cristen Rybicki, each of whom inherited a part of his wisdom and warmth. Beyond his roles in the family, Tom had a passion for music, and he would often spend his leisure hours immersed in this beloved pursuit. Whether it was gardening, spending time with his 4 granddaughters, fishing, or the Praise & Worship Band at Victory Family Church. Tom had a way of infusing every moment with his infectious enthusiasm. These interests were just a glimpse into the multifaceted individual he was, leaving a lasting mark on those fortunate enough to have known him. Karen, his sister, was both family and a close companion who brought immense happiness through their deep connection. His loving partnership with Carmen Ray, was a testament to the enduring power of genuine bonds, as they shared countless adventures and unwavering support. As we remember Thomas Leroy Chase Sr., let us also remember the man behind the roles, who lived a life full of interests, passions, and a deep, abiding love for his family.
