Theresa "Terri" Verbois

Theresa “Terri” Verbois, age 74, of Belleville, IL, born on September 21, 1951, in East St. Louis, IL, died on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at her residence.

Terri was the former retail manager at Pass Pets, St. Clair Square for 20 years.  She enjoyed reading and always had a home renovation project going on.  Terri loved her family, animals and was a caregiver to many. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald G. “Greg” Verbois; her son, Jacob Sanders; her parents, Boleslaus “Benny” and Mary, nee Irvin Syzdek; her father-in-law, Daniel Verbois and her brother-in-law, Tony Verbois.

Terri is survived by her son, Jason (Mandy) Sanders of Leawood, KS; five grandchildren, Lauren Sanders, Andrew Sanders, Taylor Bailey, Tylor Sanders and Mason Sanders; her brothers, David (Jody) Syzdek of Freeburg, IL, and John Syzdek of Belleville, IL; her niece, Kelly Syzdek of Freeburg, IL; and her mother-in-law, Marceil Verbois of Collinsville, IL.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Hope Christian Church, 206 Wuest Lane, Freeburg, IL., with Pastor Dale Weber.  Family and friends will gather at 10:30 a.m. at church.  Burial of Terri’s cremated remains will be in Sunset Hill Memorial Cemetery, Edwardsville, IL.
