Teresa L. Parkerson

Teresa L. Parkerson, nee Tucker, age 63, of Marissa, IL, born on January 10, 1958, in East St. Louis, IL, died on Saturday, August 14, 2021, at her residence.

Teresa was the store manager at Dollar General, St. Libory, IL.  She was with the company for 21 years and traveled to many of their stores to train other managers and fill in whenever and wherever she was needed.  Previously, she worked for Valhalla Gardens of Memory and the St. Clair County Intergovernmental Grants Department.  Teresa loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.  She was their #1 fan, attending their sporting events.  She traveled all over watching and cheering them on and rarely missed one of their games.  Teresa enjoyed being outdoors, camping, bingo, and going to the casino.  She was the family baker and loved designing wedding and birthday cakes for her loved ones.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry L. and Betty, nee McDaniels, Tucker.                                                    

Teresa is survived by her husband of 45 years, Carl D. Parkerson; her children, Nikki Schaefer of Lebanon, IL, Danny (Mandi) Parkerson of Maryville, IL, and Carl (Leah) Parkerson of Highland, IL; her grandchildren, Max, Reagan, Sydney, Sophie, Cooper, and Carter; and her siblings, Tim (Tina) Tucker of Caseyville, IL, and Julie (Al) York of Smithton, IL. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 22, 2021, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Kassly Mortuary, Fairview Heights, IL.

Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, August 22, 2021, at 3:00 p.m. at Kassly Mortuary, Fairview Heights, IL, with Dr. Jim Kerr officiating.
