Teresa A. Behnen

Teresa Ann Behnen, age 69, of Lebanon, IL, formerly of O’Fallon, IL, born on June 24, 1956, in East St. Louis, IL, died on Thursday, July 3, 2025, at Bria of Mascoutah, Mascoutah, IL.

Teresa was a graduate of Belleville West High School. She later worked as a secretary for the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 545 of Shiloh, IL.  She loved to watch Cardinal baseball games.  Teresa also was very good and lucky at card games and bingo. She made a hole-in-one on hole #17 at Grand Marais Golf Course, winning her a new convertible automobile.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Blanch, nee Moore Madelaine; and her sister, Kathy Helms.

Teresa is survived by her husband, William Behnen; her children, Joe (Elaine) Braunagel of O’Fallon, IL, Mike (Jennifer) Braunagel of Granite City, IL, and Cindy (Jason) Shields of Waterloo, IL; her grandchildren, Jared Braunagel, Zachary Braunagel, Daniel Braunagel, Joseph Braunagel, Taylor Wood, Madison Braunagel, Brittany Gossett, Joseph Elmore, Tanner Contratto, and Adison Shields; many loving great grandchildren; her step-daughters, Shelley Gavin and Brandy (David) Willis; her step-grandchildren, Cole Gavin, Bailey Wills, and Devin Wills; her sisters, Debra Bevineau and Pam (Dennis) Schoenherr; and her best friend, Diane Sellers.

Memorials are preferred to Vitas Hospice.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 13, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd., Fairview Heights, IL.

Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, July 13, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd., Fairview Heights, IL.  A private burial will be held at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO.
