Stephen W. Gurley

Stephen W. Gurley, age 76, of Fairview Heights, IL, born on July 8, 1949 in Sikeston, MO, died on Thursday, September 4, 2025 at his residence.

Stephen worked in the printing business all of his life and was the Principal of Operations at Universal Printing in St. Louis, MO until his retirement in 2015. He loved to cook, take care of his yard and garden and play his guitar. He was a proud husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Glen and Jean, nee Wallace, Gurley; and his father-in-law, Lyell Edward Tatum.

Stephen is survived by his wife, Zoeann, nee Tatum, Gurley; his sons Christopher (Erika) Gurley of St. Louis, MO, and Matthew Gurley of St. Louis, MO; five grandchildren, Megan Gurley, Heather Gurley, Myles Gurley, Kathryn Gurley, and Maximillian (Brittany) Gurley; two great-grandchildren, Owen Gurley and Theo Gurley; his brother and sister, Michael (Suzanne) Gurley of Bradenton, FL, and Susan (Rick) Findlay of Minneapolis, MN; and his mother-in-law, Anastasia McDowell.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 11, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Kassly Mortuary, Fairview Heights, IL.

Funeral service will be held on Friday, September 12, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Kassly Mortuary, Fairview Heights, IL, with Pastor Jarad Corzine officiating. Interment will be at Sunset Hills Memorial Estates, Edwardsville, IL.
