Ryan Lee Zajac

Ryan Lee Zajac, age 29, of Fairmont City, IL, born on July 22, 1993, in Maryville, IL, died on Friday, July 14, 2023, at Barnes Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, MO.

Ryan was diagnosed at the age of 7 with Muscular Dystrophy.  By age 10, he was in a wheelchair. Ryan attended Althoff Catholic School and was a 2011 graduate of Collinsville High School.  He received his bachelor’s degree in computer science at SIUE in 2015.  Ryan also took classes at Launch Code in St. Louis, MO, and received a certificate in Computer Coding.  He was currently a computer consultant with the Village of Fairmont City. Ryan was an amazing kid and a brave young man, always finding a solution to a problem.  He had a community of loving supporters rally to his aid for funding his lift van and other needs. Ryan will be deeply missed by his family and many loving friends.

He was preceded in death by his Uncle Pepe and Aunt Carla Manso; his grandpa, Pepe Manso; his grandma, Annie Zajac; his half-sister, Buffy Morales; and other loving family members.

Ryan is survived by his mother, Becky Manso; his father, Mark (Mary) Zajac; his grandma, Ruth Manso; his aunt, Karen Manso, his aunt, Toni (Tom) Pflueger; his uncle, Kevin (Christie) Manso; his cousins, Bethany Dahm, John Reid (Sami), Jered Reid, Seth Manso, Ella Manso, Nina Manso, Will Dahm, Wyatt Dahm, Peyton Reid, and Cameron Reid; his half-brother, Mark (Becky) Zajac; many loving nieces and nephews; and his best friend, Luke Schwartz.

Memorial Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 29, 2023, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd., Fairview Heights, IL.

Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, July 29, 2023, at 3:00 p.m. at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd., Fairview Heights, IL, with Fr. Jim Buerster officiating.
