Ruth J. Manso

Ruth J. Manso, nee Gregory, age 89, of Fairmont City, IL, born on December 10, 1933 in East St. Louis, IL, died on Friday, August 4, 2023, at River Crossing of Edwardsville, Edwardsville, IL.

Ruth was a bus driver for Holy Rosary Catholic School in Fairmont City, IL. She retired as a shuttle bus driver for the village of Fairmont City after many years of service. Ruth was a devoted mother and grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Manso, Sr; her son and daughter-in-law, Joe “Pepe” and Carla Manso; a grandson, Ryan Zajac; her parents, Walter Lemon and Vinne Lee, nee Lady, Gregory; and her siblings, Robert (Betty) Gregory, Wanda (John) Steinheimer, Walter Charles (Shirley) Gregory, Leland (Lou) Gregory, Mary (Joe) Franco, and Nancy (John) Connors.

Ruth is survived by her children, Rebecca “Becky” Manso of Fairmont City, IL, Karen Manso of Fairmont City, IL, Toni (Tom) Pflueger of Fairmont City, IL, and Kevin (Christie) Manso of Troy, IL; her grandchildren, Bethany Dahm, John (Samantha) Reid, Jered Reid, Seth Manso, Ella Manso, and Nina Manso; her great grandchildren, Will Dahm, Wyatt Dahm, Peyton Reid, and Cameron Reid; and many other loving family members.

Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 11, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd., Fairview Heights, IL.

Funeral service will be held on Friday, August 11, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd., with Father Harold Fischer, O.M.I, officiating. Interment will be at Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Belleville, IL.
