Ruth Ann Fulton, nee Davidson, age 80, of Swansea, IL, born on May 27, 1944, in St. Louis, MO, died on Sunday, January 12, 2025, at Memorial Hospital, Belleville, IL.
Ruth worked as a social worker in hospital administration for approximately 25 years. She volunteered at the St. Louis Zoo for 15 years and had a great interest in penguins. She made amazing quilts and won many awards at shows. Ruth was an avid bird watcher and planned worldwide trips focused on “birding.” She was always ready to travel, especially to the ocean. But above all, Ruth loved her grandchildren, Virginia Green, Daniel Green, Austin Miller and Abby Miller.
She was preceded in death by her son, Ralph Green; and her parents.
Ruth is survived by her husband of 46 years, Vilray “Bill” Fulton; her children, Deborah Green (Arthur Burnett); and Rev. Allen (Angie) Miller; her four grandchildren; her daughter-in-law, Janet Green; and her brother, Robert (Sheila) Davidson.
Memorials may be made to the St. Louis Zoo, Penguin and Puffin Coast or Belleville Humane Society.
Memorial Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 4, 2025 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd., Fairview Heights, IL.
