Ruby Arney, 88, devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away Sunday, February 14, 2021, at her home. She was born May 25, 1932, in Shreveport, Louisiana to parents Lacey and Julia Boyett. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Pat Boyett.
She was a voracious reader and especially enjoyed mysteries and thrillers. Her family Bible was a treasured possession too. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her five grandsons, all of whom she cared for in their early years. She was extremely proud of them and all that they had accomplished.
Ruby is survived by her husband, Robert (Bob) Arney; son Glenn (Stacy) Arney and grandsons Chase Arney and Aiden Arney; and daughter Sherry (Dan) Lee and grandsons Joshua (Rebecca) Lee, Christian (Chelsey) Lee, Mason (Ashley) Lee. She also leaves behind brothers Billy Boyett and Jack Boyett, and many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.
A celebration of her life will be held for the family and there will be no public service. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made in her honor to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, an organization that she supported for many years.
“In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.” John 14:2
