Roy E. Kessler

Roy E. Kessler, age 81, of O’Fallon, IL, born on July 5, 1944, in Belleville, IL, died on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital surrounded by his family.

Roy married the love of his life, Gwin, at a young age and they had a wonderful life together. He retired after 49 years working as a millwright at Granite City Steel. Roy was very active with his church, was a member of O’Fallon YMCA, Corvette Club, Polka Club, Camaro Club, and the O’Fallon McDonald’s Morning Social Club. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Norine, nee Bald Kessler; and his brothers, Marvin Kessler and Larry Kessler.

Roy is survived by his wife, Gwin Kessler, nee Robertson; his children, Melissa (Rev. Craig) Treadwell of Wylie, TX, and Todd Kessler of Mooresville, NC; his grandchildren, Morgan (Joseph) Stimpson, Tiffani (Rev. Jarrett) Wright, Jeremi (Anna) Treadwell, and Bethani (A.J.) DeAscentis; 8 great grandchildren, Alan Todd, Silas, Emma, Sebastian, Amelia, Jace, Ella and Jaden; and his siblings, Lloyd (Carole) Kessler, Janet (David) Underwood, and Gene Kessler.  Roy is also survived by loving nieces, nephews and friends.

Memorials may be made to Christ the King Apostolic Church, O’Fallon, IL.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Christ the King Apostolic Church, 6920 Old Collinsville Rd., O’Fallon, IL.

Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Christ the King Apostolic Church, 6920 Old Collinsville Rd., O’Fallon, IL., with Rev. Andrew Romine officiating.  Interment will be in Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, IL.
