Rosalie Marie Vitale, nee Skrabacz, 95, of Belleville, IL, born July 18, 1928, passed away Friday, April 12, 2024, at her home in Belleville, IL surrounded by her loved ones.
Rose was a homemaker for all her adult life, dedicating her time and love to her husband, children, and grandchildren. Rose was known for her wonderful cooking and baking. Family and friends always loved her food and Rose would just light up when someone complimented her. Rose was also a talented seamstress, making many of her children's clothing as they went through life. She took great pride in her flowers and her yard. She also made the most beautiful, dried flower arrangements. In her later life, she found great joy in fishing with her son.
Rose was preceded in death by her husband Joe; her children, Carol Rullkoetter, Joseph Vitale and Lisa Marie Vitale; and grandson Larry Vitale Jr.; parents, Henry and Agatha Skrabacz. Rose was the last surviving child of a family of 10 children: Julia Papciak, Verna Osthoff, John Skrabacz, Walter Skrabacz, Ann Robertson, Zigmund Skrabacz, Mary Wojcik, Dorothy Mosqueda, Theodore Skrabacz.
Surviving are her children, Cynthia (Dennis) Carlton, Debra Vitale, Larry (Deena) Vitale, Tina (Tim) Geisendorfer, Sheila Vitale and Chris Vitale; grandchildren, Jonny (Sandy) Rullkoetter, Michael (Claudia) Rullkoetter, Matt (Krista) Koesterer, Angie (Justin) Hampton, David Hampton, Roger (Shannon) Gemoules, Chandra (Brian) Evans, Kelly (Jerradd) Dachsteiner, Joseph Vitale, Adam Geisendorfer, Kayla Walker, Rachel Geisendorfer (fiancé, Alex Korpacz) and Jacob Vitale; many great grandchildren; son-in-law, John Rullkoetter; and daughter-in-law, Julie Vitale.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2024, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd., Fairview Heights, IL.
Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, April, 20, 2024, at 1:30 p.m. at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd, Fairview Heights, IL with Msgr. William McGhee officiating. Interment will follow in St. Johns Cemetery, Collinsville, IL.
