Obituary
Robert (Bob) Prokopf, age 70, of Oakville, MO, formerly of Collinsville, IL, born June 19, 1952, in East St. Louis, IL passed away Thursday, April 20, 2023 surrounded by family at Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis, MO.
Bob was a graduate of Assumption High School and a U.S. Army veteran. He worked for over 40 years at Cerro Copper in Sauget, IL. Bob enjoyed bicycling and he was a force on the racquetball court. His greatest joys were his family and his home.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Jean nee Weilbacher, and brother, Richard Prokopf.
Robert is survived by his wife of 47 years Elizabeth (Beth) nee Lynn; daughter, Rebecca (Will Budding) of Oakville, MO; sisters, Joann (John) Hiemenz of Bluffton, SC, Elaine (Michael) Fisher of Swansea, IL, Colleen (William) Wessel of Trenton, IL; brothers, James (Barbara) of Caseyville, IL, Lloyd (Jeanne) of Shiloh, IL, David (Diane) of St. Jacob, IL, Kevin (Laura) of Troy, IL, Steve of Belleville, IL; sister-in-law, Sandi (William Reed) of St. Charles, MO; special nephew, Garrett “Kid” Blevins and the youngest joy in his life, granddaughter Charlie. He is also survived by several nephews and nieces.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Mercy Hospital Hospice South.
No visitation or services are planned. There will be a celebration of Bob’s life at a later date.
