Robert P. "Bob" Walsh

Robert P. "Bob" Walsh, age 78, of Troy, IL, born on August 4, 1945, in East St. Louis, IL, died on Sunday, September 10, 2023, at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, O’Fallon, IL.

Robert drove for various bus companies for 10 years.  He was mainly a trainer and breeder of horses.  Robert was an avid train collector, and for years he had a spare room set up in his home with a running train track. Robert was a member of the Piston Pushers and made many friends at car shows.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Adele Walsh; and his sister, Mary Fowler.

Robert is survived by his wife, Margaret A. Walsh, nee Gallagher; his siblings, Bill (Debbie) Walsh, Sr. of Troy, IL and Judy Cathell of Red Bud, IL; and his nieces and nephews, Billy Walsh, Jr., Tammy (Matt) Koesterer, Robby (Wendy) Cathell, and Pam Fowler.  Robert is also survived by many great nieces and great nephews.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 14, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd., Fairview Heights, IL.

Funeral Service will be held on Friday, September 15, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd., Fairview Heights, IL.  Interment will be in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Troy, IL.
