Robert E. Kilgore, Jr.

Robert E. Kilgore, Jr., age 73, of Fairview Heights, IL, born on December 25, 1946 in South Pittsburgh, TN, died on Tuesday, May 26, 2020 at his residence.

Robert was a United States Vietnam Army Veteran serving 3 tours of duty. He was a truck driver for 20 years at Gilster-Mary Lee in Chester, IL. Robert was a former member of Garden Heights Baptist Church.  He was a loving son, brother, husband, dad, grandpa and great-grandpa. 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly Kilgore, nee, Frailey; his parents, Robert and Marie Kilgore, Sr.; and his brother, Bill Kilgore.  

Robert is survived by his children, Robert E. Kilgore, III of Ava, IL and Cindy (Theo) Meininger of Fairview Heights, IL; 6 grandchildren, Cody Lewis, Justin, Weaver, Derek Kilgore, CJ (Juli) Kilgore, Scott Kilgore, and Becca Kilgore; 6 great-grandchildren, Ava, Roman, Arlo, Oliver, Jackson and Rex; and his siblings, Rose Stamper, John Kilgore, Janice Shymanski, and Jim Kilgore.

Private family visitation will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2020 from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd., Fairview Heights, IL.

Private family funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. with Brother Terry Crownover officiating.  Interment will be in Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, IL.
