Paul A. “Nemo” Niemaczek, age 69, of O’Fallon, IL, born on March 11, 1956, in East St. Louis, IL, died on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, O’Fallon, IL.
Paul was born and grew up in East St. Louis, Illinois. As a young man he attended Holy Angels Grade School. It was during his school years; Paul got the nickname “Nemo”.
Nemo attended and graduated from Assumption High School in 1974. During this time, he met his high school sweetheart Brenda K. Ayres, at Shop City Bowling Alley in East St. Louis in 1971. After six years of dating, Paul and Brenda married on July 8, 1977, and remained married for the next 48 years.
After graduation, Nemo started work at the National City Stockyards, one of the largest stockyards in the nation in 1975. Nemo continued to work at the Stockyards with some of his closest friends for the next 10 years. In 1985, Paul started on with the Labor Local 670 in O’Fallon, Illinois, were he labored on various construction projects in the Greater St. Louis Metro Area for the next 25 years.
Outside of work, Nemo enjoyed golfing and hunting with his best friend John “Butch” Bova. He also enjoyed fishing with his two sons and coaching sports in their youth. Nemo also had an extreme passion for barbequing, whether it be pork steaks or ribs, he was always happy to share with neighbors and friends. There was always plenty to go around!
Nemo’s other passions in his spare time included shooting pool with his best friend Chuck White,
and local buddies at his favorite tavern, The Outdoorsman. He also shared a great love for playing Pinochle at family get togethers, such as his Superbowl party and annual holidays.
However, his greatest passion and love was his two sons Jeremiah and Kyle, along with his two grandchildren Owen and Scarlett.
As a long living legacy of Paul “Nemo” Niemaczek to his two sons, who also go by the nickname Nemo. Paul “Nemo” will always be remembered as TON, “The Original Nemo!”
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul L., and Susanne, nee Lauko Niemaczek; his in-laws, Everett Z. and Levetta O. Ayres; his brothers-in-law, William Gammon and Delbert E. Ayres; his sister-in-law, Margaret E. Keck, nee Ayres; and his nephew, Keith E. Keck.
Paul is survived by his wife, Brenda Niemaczek, nee Ayres; his sons, Jeremiah (Sasha) Niemaczek of Fairview Heights, IL and Kyle Niemaczek of O’Fallon, IL; his grandchildren, Owen Z. Niemaczek and Scarlett L. Niemaczek; his sister, Julie Gammon; his nephew, Gregory (Lindsey) Gammon of Collinsville, IL; and his great nieces, Avery, Emilia and Charlotte Gammon of Collinsville, IL. Paul is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and dear friends.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 9, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd., Fairview Heights, IL.
Visitation will also be held on Monday, November 10, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd., Fairview Heights, IL.
Funeral Service will be held on Monday, November 10, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd., Fairview Heights, IL, with his brother-in-law, James D. Keck officiating. Interment will be in St. Adalbert Cemetery, Fairview Heights, IL.
