Patricia “Liz” Ann (nee Baum) Arnold, 81, of Collinsville, IL, passed away peacefully on May 2, 2021, surrounded by her loving family.
Liz was born on November 18, 1939 in East St. Louis, IL. She was married to Edward Arnold, Sr., on July 4, 1957. Liz worked in food services for many years. She enjoyed cooking, baking, decorating, and playing word games – don’t tell her, she made up that word in Scrabble because she’ll define it for you! She was a witty woman – not only did she love her word games, but she also enjoyed creating handwritten poems for those she loved. Although she struggled with her vision later in life, if you gave her a cart, she would whiz around Aldi like it was a race. Liz loved her 50’s music – it always got her toes tapping! She was always serving and helping others. For the past 25 years, she lived with her son, Wayne. They have lived their lives striving to take care of one another and have been there for each other through thick and thin.
Liz is preceded in death by her husband, Edward Arnold, Sr.; her daughter, Brenda Hammond; her parents, Joseph, and Helen (nee Koskie) Baum; and her brothers, Nick Baum and Bob Baum.
She is survived by her children, Sherrie Arnold, Wayne Arnold, Jr., and Joyce (Brett) Steinbrueck; her grandchildren, Melissa Hammond, Josh (Andy) Schauer, Nichole Henson, Brittany Steinbrueck, and Tyler Steinbrueck.
Memorials can be made to BJC Hospice or to Siteman Cancer Center.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 7, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd., Fairview Heights, IL.
