Norma J. McQuade

Norma J. McQuade, nee Cronin, age 82, of Belleville, IL, born on March 10, 1939, in East St. Louis, IL, died on Monday, January 24, 2022.

Norma graduated from St. Teresa Academy, Class of 1957; and was a former Nurse Assistant for over 20 years at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital.  She was a former member of St. Stephen Catholic Church, an avid gardener, loved listening to old movies, crocheting, and was an accomplished seamstress and a former 4H leader.  Norma was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

She was preceded  in death by her husband, Michael W. McQuade; her grandson, Daniel McQuade, Jr., her parents, Ira and Dorothy, nee Roberts Cronin; her sister, Sandra Williams, and her brother, Jim Cronin.

Surviving are her children, Donna (Jacques) Thro of Swansea, IL, Daniel McQuade of Evansville, IL, Dwayne (Karyn) McQuade of Corpus Christi, TX, Diane (Jeffery) Haudrich of Waterloo, IL, and Dana McQuade of Dorsey, IL; her grandchildren, Michael (Kaitlin) Krohn, Benjamin (Kenzie) McQuade, Etienne (Kathryn) Thro, Zachary McQuade, Gabrielle Thro, Colette Thro, Hope McQuade, Halle Haudrich, McKenzie Haudrich, and Wyatt Nganga; her great-grandchildren, Finley Krohn, Jacques Maurice Thro, and Maeve Krohn; her brother, Eugene (Brenda) Cronin of Texas; her sister-in-law, Brigette Cronin of Belleville, IL, and her loving nieces and nephews.

Family and Friends will meet at 1:15 p.m. on Friday, January 28, 2022, at Cathedral of St. Peter, Belleville, IL for a 1:30 p.m. Memorial Mass with Msgr. John Myler officiating.  

Burial of Norma’s cremated remains will take place on Monday, January 31, 2022, at 9:00 a.m. at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO.
