Mildred Marie Peterson

Mildred Marie Peterson, nee Gilbreath, age 87, of Collinsville, IL, born on October 7, 1936, in Fairmont City, IL, died on Monday, February 19, 2024, at Anderson Hospital, Maryville, IL.

Marie’s greatest love in her life were her children,  grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and family. She especially loved dog sitting for her grand dogs.   Marie was a devoted Cardinal fan and found much enjoyment watching her beloved Cardinal’s baseball.  She also loved to get her hair done every Friday, and Crystal and Tracey made sure she was always beautiful.  Marie was a very considerate and compassionate person who especially loved her job serving her special customers at Hardees.  She will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.  Her memory will continue to live on in the hearts and lives of her friends and family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard C. Peterson; her mother, Nellie Elizabeth Stammer; and many loving brothers and sisters.

Marie is survived by her children, Sharon (Donnie) Gibson, Carol Ann (Charles) Hering, and Donna Ryan; her grandchildren, Jaime (Nick) Howard and Scott Dowdy; her great-grandchildren, Jacob Howard, Tate Howard, Luke Howard, Huck Dowdy, and Thatcher Dowdy; and loving nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be given to Vitas Hospice.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 23, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd., Fairview Heights, IL.

Funeral Service will be held on Friday, February 23, 2024, at 4:00 p.m. at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd, Fairview Heights, IL.  Cremation will follow services.
