Melvin “Duke” Rainey, age 77, of Cahokia, IL, born on January 5, 1949, in St. Louis, MO, died on Friday, April 24, 2026, at his residence surrounded by his family.
Duke was a Graphic Arts salesman for ColorTech in St. Louis, MO. He enjoyed motorcross racing and being a youth coach for soccer, ice hockey and girls softball.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Eleanor, nee Weatherford Rainey; and his sister, Diane Bennett.
Duke is survived by his wife of 59 years, Brenda Rainey, nee Marchbanks; his children, Angela Sabo, David (Pam) Rainey and Aric (Heidi) Rainey; his 5 grandchildren, Anthony, Josh (Kiah), Lauren, Flynn and Cosette; 3 great-grandchildren, Sophia, Shepherd and Callum; his mother-in-law, Evelyn Hawkins; and his brother-in-law, Dan (Sherrill) Marchbanks.
