Matthew G. Elmore

Matthew G. Elmore, age 60, of Fairview Heights, IL, born on June 8, 1963, in Centreville, IL, died on Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at his residence.

Matt was a graduate of Edwardsville High School, and he immediately joined the United States Marine Corps, where he served in Desert Shield and Desert Storm.  After his discharge from the service, he worked as a supervisor with AO Smith in Granite City, IL. Matt loved working on his father’s farm in Hamel, IL, camping in Meramec State Park, and traveling overseas, mainly in Taiwan.

He was preceded in death by father, Donald D. Elmore; his step-mother, Lois Elmore; and his nephew, Bradley Rhodes.

Matt is survived by his wife, Yueh Wo Elmore; his sons, James (Tina) King of St. Louis, MO, and Russell King (Scott Burk) of St. Louis, MO; his grandchildren, Austin King, and Adoria Lee; his mother, Pat (Alan) Bremer; and his siblings, Mary Beth (Steve) Rhodes, Mark (Mary Kathleen ) Elmore, Christina Ann (Al) Albers, Michael (Karen) Augustine, Brian (Denise) Augustine, Jennifer (Jim) Hamilton, Becky (Chris) Jensen, Venus (Dave) Chapman, and Kathleen (Steve) Widner.  Matt is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

A 1:45 p.m. funeral procession will leave Kassly Mortuary, Ltd., Fairview Heights, IL, on Monday, December 4, 2023, for a 2:30 p.m. graveside service at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO.
