Martha J. (Bucher) Vallina

Martha J. Vallina, age 86, of Shiloh, IL, born on August 26, 1939, in Cairo, IL, died on Sunday, February 15, 2026, at her residence with her family by her side.

Martha was the Chief Deputy Recorder of Deeds at St. Clair County Courthouse for 24 years. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, St. Ann Alter Sodality, a longtime organizer with Relay for Life, and for many years, a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Fairview Heights Elks Lodge #664.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Teresa M. “Tracee” Lewis; her granddaughter, Ashley Musser; and her parents, John and Elsie, nee Johnston Bucher.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Jerry Vallina; her children, Doug (Annie) Bevill, Port Washington, WI, Phil Bevill of Belleville, IL, and Candice “C.C.” (Scott) Przybysz of Smithton, IL; grandchildren, Nikkole (Chris) Tanner, Austin Garcia, Dustin Bevill, Shaun Przybysz, and Meghan Przybysz; her great-grandchildren, Blake Tanner, Devin Tanner, Isaac Tanner, Jackson Siener, Landon Bevill, Liam Bevill, and Levi Bevill; and her niece, Jeannie (Frank) Sudja of Fairview Heights, IL. Martha is also survived by loving extended family members and friends.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 19, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd., Fairview Heights, IL.

A funeral procession will leave on Friday, February 20, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. from Kassly Mortuary, Ltd., Fairview Heights, IL, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Fairview Heights, IL.
