Margaret M. "Honey" Dulaney

Margaret M. “Honey” Dulaney, nee Phillips, age 94, of Fairview Heights, IL, born on December 12, 1928, in Iola, IL, died on Monday, August 21, 2023, at her residence.

Honey worked as a Registered Nurse at St. Mary’s Hospital.  She helped her husband build their home, and ran skating rinks, Skateland in Belleville, IL, Skate-A-Rama in Fairview Heights, IL, and Skate-A-Rama in Effingham, IL. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harlan R. “Dude” Dulaney; her granddaughter, Bridget Dulaney; her parents, Bessie, nee Brown, and Vernon Phillips; and her brothers, Doug and John Phillips.

Honey is survived by her children, Vernon Richard (Debbie) Dulaney and Sharon Sue (Hossein) Shahpari; her grandchildren, Robbie (Jennifer) Dulaney, Sheila Shahpari, C.J. (Stephanie) Dulaney, Michelle (David) Rose, and Stephanie (Alex) Stroh; her great grandchildren, Jacob Dulaney, Natalie Dulaney, Elliot Rose, Delaney Stroh, Avery Dulaney, Margaret Rose, and Ronan Dulaney; her brother-in-law, Dwight Dulaney; and her sisters-in-law, Eloise Gifford and Jan Phillips.

Memorials may be made to Cystic Fibrosis Association or to Alzheimer’s Association.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 24, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd., Fairview Heights, IL.

Visitation will also be held on Friday, August 25, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd., Fairview Heights, IL.

Funeral Service will be held on Friday, August 25, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd., Fairview Heights, IL.  Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Fairview Heights, IL.
