Lenore A. "Nora" Dinan

Lenore A. “Nora” Dinan, age 73, of Belleville, IL, born on November 27, 1951, in East St. Louis, IL, passed away on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at her home.

Nora was first and foremost a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sibling, and friend—alongside being an integral part of the upper-manager team at AT&T for over 40 years, before retiring.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry J. Dinan; her parents, Dennis R. Hoerner, Sr. and Marguerite A. “Peggy” Hoerner, nee Halloran; a brother, John M. Hoerner; her parents-in-law, Thomas and Hazel, nee Cramer; a sister-in-law, Phyllis DiPrima, nee Dinan; and five brothers-in-law: Bob Underwood, Dick Pearl, William Dinan, Timothy Dinan, and Edward Dinan.

Surviving are her two sons, Michael P. Dinan and Matthew T. Dinan, both of Belleville, IL; a grandson, Isaak S. Dinan; two sisters, Mona (Gary) Sterr and Patti Pearl; and seven brothers: Dennis (Francie) Hoerner Jr., Tim (Robin) Hoerner, Joe (Mary Beth) Hoerner, Keith (Anne) Hoerner, Kevin (Ann) Hoerner, Steve (Deanne) Hoerner, Garrett (Katie) Hoerner, and sisters-in-law Kay Hoerner, nee Poell, and Kathy Dinan, nee Chesley; and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.

Her loving family shares:  You always put others before yourself no matter the cost of your own well-being. You were the epitome of love—and as your dad mentioned to you one day when watching you care for Henry in his time of need, “you were the strongest person he had ever known.” We will carry your unceasing love and strength with us forever. You and Henry will finally get to take a long walk together again.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd., Fairview Heights, IL.

Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. with Rev. Kenneth York officiating at Kassly Mortuary Ltd. Fairview Heights, IL.  Interment will be in Green Mount Catholic Cemetery, Belleville, IL.
